Once you’ve selected your data and applied your filters, the Settings tab allows you to control the look, feel, and layout of your chart.
General Settings
These settings define how your chart is identified and how much space it occupies on your dashboard.
Setting Name | What it Does | Availability | Photo |
Title | Required. This is the primary label for your chart. Use it to clearly describe the data being shown to the viewer. | All Charts
Subtitle | Provides additional context or instructions to the viewer (e.g., "Data from East Region"). | All Charts
Show Chart Title | When disabled, this hides both the Title and Subtitle. Use this if the chart's content is self-explanatory to save screen space | All Charts
Width | Specifies the percentage of the screen width the chart occupies. This determines your layout (e.g., two 50% charts will sit side-by-side). | All Charts
Height | Adjusts the vertical scale relative to the default. Use 200% for a full-page height when printing or exporting to PDF. | All Charts
Auto-Height | Sets the width to 100% and allows the chart to render its full vertical length without requiring a scrollbar. | All Charts |
Axis & Scale Settings
These settings control the labels, visibility, and numerical ranges of your chart's scales.
Setting Name | What it Does | Availability | Photo |
X Axis Label | Replaces the default data point name on the horizontal axis (e.g., changing "Document Date" to "Month"). | Line, Bar, NPS
Y Axis Label | Replaces the default metric name on the vertical axis (e.g., changing "Record Count" to "Total Audits"). | Line, Bar, NPS
Show X Axis Point Labels | Toggles the visibility of the specific names or dates along the bottom axis. Disabling this removes the scale entirely. | Line, Bar, NPS
Show Y Axis Point Labels | Toggles the visibility of the numerical values along the side axis. Disabling this removes the vertical scale. | Line, Bar, NPS
X Axis Range | Allows you to set a fixed range or dynamically adjust the horizontal scale to highlight specific data spreads. | Horizontal Bar
Y Axis Range | Allows you to set a fixed range or dynamically adjust the vertical scale. This helps viewers identify small differences in values (like 97% vs 99%). | Line, Vertical Bar, Gauge
Show Data Point Labels | Displays the specific numerical value (the "score") directly on every bar, line, or wedge in the chart. | Line, Bar, Pie, NPS, Gauge
Time Interval | Set the X Axis time period grouping (daily, Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Yearly). *Available as Data Point setting for all Date Type Data Points. | All*, NPS (Line Chart Only) |
Visual Logic & Interaction
These settings manage how your data is formatted, ranked, and how users interact with the results.
Setting Name | What it Does | Availability | Photo |
Global Formatting | Adds a specific symbol (like % or $) to every value. Set this to "Default" if using multiple metrics with different formats. | Line, Bar, Pie, Gauge, Single Value, Data Table
Decimal Places | Controls the precision of your numbers. Use more decimals to help identify fine differences between similar values. | Line, Bar, NPS, Pie, Gauge, Single Value, Data Table
Sort By | Ranks your data based on labels or values. Use this to rank results from highest-to-lowest or in alphabetical order. | Line, Bar, Data Table
Limit Results | Restricts the number of items shown to highlight specific data, such as a "Top 5" or "Bottom 10" list. | Line, Bar, Data Table
Plot Lines | Adds horizontal lines to indicate where data falls in relation to a goal, benchmark, or expected target value. | Line, Bar
Threshold Color | Changes the color of data points based on their value (e.g., turning a bar Red if it falls below a specific target). | Line, Bar, Pie, Gauge
Disable Drill Down | Prevents users from clicking a data point to see the list of individual records behind it. | Line, Bar, NPS, Pie, Gauge, Data Table |
Specialized Style Settings
These settings only appear for specific chart types (like Tables, Pie Charts, or Word Clouds) to help you customize their unique layouts.
Setting Name | What it Does | Availability | Photo |
Transpose Data | Swaps the rows and columns in a table, flipping the orientation of your data. | Data Table
Hide Column Headers | Removes the top headers. Useful for saving space when multiple charts use the same headers. | Data Table
Hide Row Headers | Removes the side headers to reduce clutter. | Data Table
Show as Donut | Changes a standard Pie chart into a donut shape for a more visual style. | Pie
Show Legend | Includes a color-coded key so that smaller slices of data are not overlooked. | Pie
Use % of Total | Shows the percentage of the "pie" the wedge occupies instead of the raw count. | Pie
Show Sentiment | Colors words based on tone (Green = Positive, Yellow = Neutral, Red = Negative). | Word Cloud
Rotate Words | Allows words to be presented vertically for more visual variety. | Word Cloud
Word Limit | Sets the maximum number of words allowed to appear in the cloud. | Word Cloud |
Pro-Tips for Chart Success
The "Save" Reminder: Changes in the Settings tab are only visible in the preview while you are editing. Be sure to click Save Chart to push those changes to your live dashboard so your team can see them.
Layering Settings: You can combine settings for high impact. For example, use Sort By (Low to High) + Limit Results (to 5) + Threshold Color (Red) to create an instant "Bottom 5 Performers" chart.
