Building a custom dashboard starts with creating a new dashboard page and adding the specific charts or graphs you want to see.
Step 1: Create the Dashboard
Navigate to Intelligence (IQ): You will land on the Overview Dashboard by default.
Start New: Click the + button on the left Dashboard menu and select "Start from Scratch."
3. Name & Share: Enter a descriptive name (e.g., Merchandising Audit) and select your Sharing settings (Private, Public, User, or Group). Note: You can change this later.
4. Click Create: You will be redirected to your new, blank dashboard.
Step 2: Add a Chart
Once your dashboard is created, you can start adding the specific charts or graphs you want to see.
-
Pick a Chart Type: From the list of options, click or drag a chart (like a Bar Chart or Gauge) onto your dashboard.
Not sure which one to pick? Check out our Choosing the Right Chart Type guide.
Enter the Chart Title: Use a name that users will understand, like "Daily Cafe Scores Over Time."
-
Select Your Data Source: Choose the type of information you want to view. This includes:
- Records: Data from any Intouch product (Shop, Audit, Check, Survey).
- Cases: Information regarding cases created in IQ.
- Followups: Tasks created during Checks. -
Select Your Products: If you selected Records as your source, you can choose to chart data from a single product or multiple products combined:
- Single Product: Choose this if you are charting detailed program information (like specific question or section-level data). You can only chart one program at a time for this level of detail, so ensure you select the specific product associated with that program.
- Multiple Products: Choose this for high-level data. Product scores, program scores, and record counts from multiple products can be charted together in a single view. Click Create: This will open the Chart Builder, where you will define your Metric, Data Point, and Filters.
Pro-Tip: Beyond Graphs
The Dashboard Editor isn't just for charts! You can also add Display Text for notes, Images for branding, or a Word Cloud for comments to make your dashboard more informative.
Next Steps
Now that your dashboard is set up and a chart has been added, here are the next steps to complete your setup:
Configuring Your Chart: Understand how to apply your selected metrics and data points to build a meaningful visualization.
Data Filtering: Discover how to drill down into specific timeframes, locations, or programs to focus on the exact data you need.
Chart Settings & Customization: Fine-tune the look and feel of your chart with custom colors, labels, and display options.
